Siena Women's Water Polo Places Two on the ACWPC All-Academic Team

June 13, 2007

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's water polo team placed two student-athletes on the prestigious ACWPC (Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches) All-Academic Team. Senior attacker Anne LaFex and sophomore attacker Erin Clune were honored for their academic excellence in the classroom.

LaFex, a Syracuse, N.Y. native, tallied a 3.43 grade point average majoring in English. She earned the Superior designation, which is the second highest ACWPC All-Academic honor. LaFex finished fifth on the team with 50 points in 26 appearances this season.

Clune, a Political Science major from Bainbridge Island, Wash., carries a 3.29 cumulative GPA following her second year at Siena. Clune tallied 18 goals last season for the Saints.

In order for a student-athlete to qualify for the ACWPC All-Academic Team they must be a regular member of an institutions varsity water polo team. In addition, they must carry a 3.2 grade point average or higher.
