Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Defeats Siena Water Polo in Double Overtime

March 20, 2008

Loudonville, N.Y. - Jackie Crosby continued her outstanding week with four more goals but it was not enough as the Siena water polo team dropped the final game of its California road trip 13-9 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in double overtime. Crosby added an assist to finish with five points matching teammate Lauren Garrigan who added a pair of goals and three assists. The loss dropped the Saints to 6-12 as they now return back east.

Siena harbored a three goal advantage entering the final period before Claremont roared back to force overtime. In the first extra session, neither team found pay dirt which led to a second overtime period.

In the second OT, Claremont again found their offensive touch, exploding for four goals to run off with the win.

Crosby, a freshman from nearby Poway, Calif., wowed the home fans all week long and finished the Saints' swing through her home state with 26 total points on 19 goals and seven assists over just five games of action.

Other top Siena performers included Camille Norman who posted two goals to go along with five steals and Devan Ragg who added three assists.

The Saints will resume play on March 30th when they travel to the Nutmeg state to take on Connecticut College. Game time has not yet been announced.
