Final Stats

Claremont, Calif. - The Siena water polo team (3-11) dropped an 8-5 final to Pomona-Pitzer in the final game in day one's action at the Claremont Invitational this evening.

Both teams were knotted up at three after one, the Saints were outscored 5-2 from the second quarter on.

Sophomore Caitlin Smith chipped in a team-high two goals, both coming in 6-on-5 opportunities.

Shanna Allen and Lynn Whitmire each added a goal and a pair of assists in the loss. Whitmire also tallied a team-high two steals while Allen led the Saints with five ejections drawn in the game.

Kaedy Graves made five saves in the cage for Siena.

The Saints have a pair of games on the slate tomorrow with matchups at 4:30 p.m. against Redlands and 8:15 p.m. against Caltech in the final day of the Claremont Invitational.
