Saints Visit Ronald McDonald House

Nov. 2, 2008

The Siena women's tennis team visited the Ronald McDonald House in Albany to cook dinner for the home's residents Saturday evening. The team volunteered for Ronald McDonald House Charities as a part of the Saints in the Community initiative.

The partnership between the athletic department and RMHC is in its fourth year. The team also walked over to Albany Medical Center to visit the Ronald McDonald's Room in the hospital.

"Everyone on the team did their part today from peeling the carrots and cleaning the chicken to taking the time to walk over to the hospital. This type of activity helps the athletes understand why we need their commitment to the local community " said coach O'Brien.

One of the main objectives of the Siena Athletic Department has always been to remain actively involved in the Capital Region community through its Saints in the Community program. Siena's student-athletes and coaches make regular appearances at the Ronald McDonald House, local classrooms and hospitals throughout the year.
