Nicole Ross to Join Women's Tennis Program in Fall

Women's tennis head coach Tim OBrien announced that Nicole Ross of Watervliet, NY will be joining the team in September. Ross is a recent graduate of Shaker High in Latham where she played four years of varsity tennis.

"We are very fortunate to have Nicole join our team," O'Brien said. "Nicole will be an immediate help in strengthening our very young team. She will have the opportunity to make major contribution this season."

During her senior year, Ross represented Section II in the New York State High School Championships. She finished 2007 ranked #9 in the USTA Eastern Section for Women's Open Singles. Ross was also awarded the Sportsmanship Award at Shaker.

Ross was a member of the National Honor Society, the German Club and the Key Club. She currently works at the Tricity Tennis Club in Latham and also volunteers with her church's youth group. Ross is receiving a Presidential academic grant from Siena.

Ross joins her teammate from Shaker High, Jasleen Sandhu as well as Danielle Crill of Cornwall,N.Y. to complete the new incoming freshman class.
