Men's and Women's Tennis Players Named to MAAC ALL-Academic Team

LOUDONVILLE, NY- A total of eight members of Siena's men's and women's tennis teams were named to the New York Lottery MAAC All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference. Michael Aliotti, Adam Mastroianni, John Michalisin, Brian Onofry and Cory Snitchler round out the players from the men's tennis team were honored. Sugan Langer and Mary Margaret Scullin of the women's tennis team were also named to the prestigious team.

Aliotti, a native of Westfield, Massachusetts, has won five matches this year including victories against Wagner, Rider, Lafayette, Sacred Heart and St. Peter's. Mastroianni, an undecided science education major played twice this season against Lafayette and Marist. Michalisin, a bio-chemistry major signifies the team player role for the Saints as he has won five matches this season and earned his team's only point against Holy Cross this season. Onofry, a political science major has played in 13 solid matches this season. Snitchler, a physics major won one of his two matches played, with the lone victory, coming against Wagner.

Rounding out the women's tennis team, Langer a political science major has been a force to be reckoned with on the court this season. She has stacked 12 victories in just 18 matches. Scullin, an English major has played in 12 matches and has defeated the likes of St. Peters and Manhattan.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution, be a significant starter or reserve and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
