Siena junior Sarah Mayer posted two singles victories in the ITA/NCAA East Regionals this past weekend in Norfolk, Va. Mayer and freshman Lauren Moy paired together in doubles competition as well, falling 8-2 to Old Dominion's Barbara Costa and Charleen Haarhoff.

"The trip to Norfolk was worthwhile and a great experience," head coach Tim O'Brien said." It provided a good look at the future for Lauren. Sarah played a great match against the #17 seed from Virginia on Sunday morning but could not bounce back from the flu to play her level on Sunday evening. We look forward to competing again next year!"

Mayer began her singles competition with a 6-2 and 6-3 win over Morgan State's Walaa Elsir. On Sunday, she defeated #17 seed Jennifer Stevens of Virginia., but was knocked out by #10 Janet Kim of Yale.

The Regionals complete the competitive portion of the Saints 2007 fall schedule. The team returns to action in the spring.
