Loudonville, N.Y. -- The Siena Saints Women's Tennis Team overwhelmed Canisius 7-0 in their final home and MAAC regular-season match. The Saints were led by Senior Co-captains, Jenn Fahr and Collen Brady who combined for an 8-2 win at 3rd doubles. Before the matches began, Fahr and Brady were honored in Senior Day ceremonies. The team presented the them with bouquets of flowers and a photo album to thank them for their four years of service.

The nine match sweep was the Saint's first of the spring season. Their other shutout came last fall when the Saints blanked Robert Morris 8-0. Both #3, Betsy Brookins (Delamr, NY/Bethlehem) and #1, Nikki Mayer (Lathem, NY/Shaker) got back on the winning track as they each notched their fifth win of the season against only two setbacks.

The #2 doubles team of Brooke Fisher (Katonah, NY/John Jay) and Vicki Dinham (Long Beach, NY/ Sacred Heart) who came back from a 5-1 deficit against Niagara on Saturday to win the next 7 games and the match 8-0 blanked Canisius' Cori Newhouse and Andrea Meyer 8-0 to run their consecutive game win streak to 13. Siena's Eileen Gallocher (Bayside, NY/St. Francis Prep) picked up her second consecutive victory at #6 singles, 6-1, 6-1.

The Saint's close out the regular season on Tuesday when they travel to New Britian, CT to meet Central Connecticut State in a non-league encounter. Match time is 3:30PM.
