Siena Swimmer Lands National Honor
Sept. 6, 2001 LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- The United States Achievement Academy announced today that Olga Y. Kandaurova (Moscow, Russia/Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons) has been named an All-American Collegiate Scholar. The USA has established the All-American Collegiate Award Program to offer deserved recognition to superior students who excel in the academic disciplines. The All-American Collegiate Scholars must earn a 3.3 or higher, grade point average. Only scholars selected by a school official or other qualified sponsor are accepted. These scholars are also eligible for other awards given by the USAA. These are awards few students can ever hope to attain. Olga Y. Kandaurova, who attends Siena College, was nominated for this national award by her athletic academic advisor. Olga Y. Kandaurova will appear in the All-American Collegiate Yearbook, which is published nationally. "Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever before in America`s history. Certainly, winners of the All-American Collegiate Awards should be congratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achievement," said Dr. George Stevens, Executive Director of the United States Achievement Academy.
Olga Y. Kandaurova is the daughter of Yevgeniy and Irina Kandaurova from Moscow, Russia. She is pursuing a finance major with a French minor at Siena college. Olga Y. Kandaurova intends to graduate with the Bachelor's degree in 2003.
