Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's swimming team defeated the Holy Cross Crusaders today 154-145 in non-conference action at Siena Pool today.

The Saints held a slim lead through the first 13 events of the meet, until the Crusaders took the lead after winning the three-meter diving. Siena built an early lead in the swimming portion of the meet, before Holy Cross dominated the one-meter diving to cut the Saints' lead to 78-72 after eight events. Siena bounced back to regain the lead going into the three-meter diving, holding a 126-119 lead entering the event. Holy Cross answered back to regain control, winning 15 points in the event to take a 134-129 lead. Siena responded by winning 14 points in the 200 Individual Medley to take back the lead, 143-139 entering the final event. The Saints would have to place first in the final event in order to win the meet, but had only one team entered in the event, compared to the Crusader's four. Siena's 400 freestyle relay team of Martha Kroll (Oxford, Conn.), Grace Turman (Branford, Conn.), Kelly Pangburn (West Seneca, N.Y.), and Kathleen Noonan (Pinebush, N.Y.) were able to pull out a first place finish in the last event, giving the Saints the final 154-145 win.
