Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's swimming team defeated the Binghamton Wildcats 77-61 and were defeated by the Cornell Big Red 84-50 in non-conference action at the Siena Pool.

In the victory over Binghamton, Kelly Pangburn (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca East Senior) earned first place victories in the 200 and 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle. In the 200 freestyle, Pangburn established a new school record with a time of 1:56.22 giving the sophomore five school marks. Also swimming well was Martha Kroll (Oxford, Conn./Seymour) who earned victories in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. In the 100 yard backstroke, Kroll established a new Siena record with a time of 1:01.34, breaking her own previous record of 1:01.95.

In the loss against, Cornell Kroll's times in all three events were good enough for victories over the Big Red. Kelly Pangburn earned a win in the 200 freestyle in addition to second place finishes in the 200 and 100 yard butterfly. The Saints' Grace Turman (Branford, Conn./Branford) also picked up a first place finish against Cornell with a time of 5:13.20 in the 500 freestyle.

Siena diver Danielle Tardiff (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) earned two second place finishes with a score of 166.5 in the one-meter and 183.3 in the three-meter events.

In the Cornell versus Binghamton match-up, the Big Red handed Binghamton a 103-29 defeat.

The Saints will close out their regular season on January 20 when they face Rider and Wagner in Lawrenceville, N.J. 1:00 p.m.
