Shanna Allen has chosen to sign early to play Division I water polo with Siena in the fall of 2002 becoming the first athlete to receive a scholarship to play the sport for the Saints which begin their inaugural season in March. Allen's talent has sparked interest from the likes of Hartwick, Villanova and UMass but it was Siena that had what she was looking for.

The senior from Mechanicsburg, Pa. has achieved National All-American status for her sophomore and junior season and will likely be named for her senior year (selections made in May), All-State First-Team 2000 and 2001, Northeast Zone team 2000, Pennsylvania State Championship team 2000.

The standout has 112 goals scored, 122 steals, 42 assist, and 96 sprint-offs won as a Lady Eagle. While Allen's first love is playing water polo she will also be swimming for head coach Ken McLaughlin.
