Nov. 17, 2007

Final Stats

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena Women's Swimming and Diving team captured two more victories this afternoon, downing MAAC foes Manhattan and St. Peter's at the Riverdale County Day School in Riverdale, N.Y. The Saints (5-1, 4-0 MAAC) tallied near identical victories, defeating St. Peter's 75-20 and host Manhattan, 74-21. With the tri-meet sweep, the Saints are off to their best start since going 6-1 to begin the 2002-03 season.

The Green and Gold paced the pool all day long in their most dominating performance of the year, capturing victories in ten of eleven events. The 100 yard breaststroke competition was the lone event that Siena failed to win.

Freshman phenom Brittany Pavolko (Pittsfield, Mass./Pittsfield) was the Saints lone multiple individual event winner of the day, posting wins in the 200 IM (2:15.55) and 100 free (:55.25). Pavolko also comprised part of Siena's 200 Free Relay winning team (1:42.65) which also included teammates Megan Dobbins, Caitlyn Biagioli and Rachel McShane.

The Saints remaining victories included Dobbins in the 50 free (:25.61), Bethany Fried in the 200 free (2:04.98), Veronica Cimilluca in the 500 free (5:34.35), Melissa Nocera in the 1000 free (11:47.43), Bridget Rowland in the 100 fly (1:02.75), Biagioli in the 100 back (1:03.86) and the team of Dena Kaliades, Meaghan Brauer, Rowland and Allison O'Keefe in the 200 medley relay (1:58.33).

The Saints will aim to match their best start in program history when they return to the Siena Swim Center on Saturday, December 1st against Sacred Heart. Originally scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time, competition will now get underway at 11 a.m.
