NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Junior Amanda McCarthy captured first-place in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley events to lead the Iona Gaels to a 183-109 victory over the Siena Saints at the Hynes Athletic Center in New Rochelle Wednesday evening. The loss marks the Saints' third in as many contests.

Representing the only first-place finisher on behalf of the Saints was MAAC Swimmer of the Week Samantha Coratti (Hyde Park, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), who paced the pool with a time of 2:17.89 to earn top-billing in the 200-yard backstroke event.

Coratti also placed second in the 100-yard backstroke event, while teammate Melissa Nocera (Holbrook, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) tallied a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle event.

The Saints have just over a month to prepare before taking on the Fairfield Stags on December 9 in Fairfield, Conn. The meet is slated for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
