Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's swimming and diving team placed seventh with a score of 82.50 following the completion of the first day of competition at the 2008 MAAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Mangione Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola College in Baltimore, Md. The Saints smashed three school records on the day, breaking the program record for times in the 200 free relay, 200 IM and 50 free. Marist leads the ten team field after the first day with 223 points with Rider nearby in second.

The Green and Gold got off to an impressive start right off the bat, finishing third overall in the 200 free relay. The team of Megan Dobbins, Brittany Pavolko, Rachel McShane and Caitlyn Biagioli finished with a time of 1:38.14, breaking the previous school record of 1:39.97 originally set just last season.

Pavolko would continue to aid the Saints in re-writing the record books following her time of 2:12.10 in the 200 IM which placed her fourth in the field and broke her own record in the event set earlier this season. Dobbins broke another Siena record as well, finishing fourth overall in the 50 free (:24.41), surpassing the previous record of :24.74 set by Ashley Serrago in 2005.

The second day of the three day long MAAC Championships resumes tomorrow in Baltimore.
