Complete Results Championship Central

BALTIMORE - The Siena Saints remain seated in seventh place with a total of 131 points following day two of the 2007 MAAC Championships at the Mangione Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola College Friday. Still bolstering a first place standing are the Marist Red Foxes with 586 points, followed by the Rider University Broncs with 487 points.

The Saints placed seventh overall in the 200-yard Medley Relay, as freshman Samantha Coratti (Hyde Park, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), junior Megan Dobbins (Huntington, Conn./Lauralton Hall Academy), senior Ashley Serrago (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) and sophomore Rachel McShane (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) clocked a time of 1:57.21.

The 1000-yard freestyle event saw sophomore distance specialist Melissa Nocera (Holbrook, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) place 20th with a time of 11:36.04.

In the 100-yard butterfly event, Serrago placed 13th with a time of 1:03.09, while freshman Allison O'Keefe (Southington, Conn./Saint Paul Catholic) and McShane finished 15th and 16th respectively with times of 2:03.93 and 2:05.83.

Backstrokers Jacylyn Giunta (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown) and Coratti finished consecutively in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:04.11 and 1:04.51, respectively, while the Saints concluded the day's proceedings with a ninth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay, as freshman Melanie Murray (Hamden, Conn./Hamden), junior Jessica Cummings (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake), Giunta and Nocera touched the wall with a collective time of 8:44.38.

 

 

The 2007 MAAC Championships conclude tomorrow with the preliminary events beginning at 10 a.m.
