BALTIMORE - The team of junior Megan Dobbins (Huntington, Conn./Lauralton Hall Academy), freshman Allison O'Keefe (Southington, Conn./Saint Paul Catholic), sophomore Rachel McShane (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) and senior Ashley Serrago (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) established a new school record in the women's 200-yard freestyle relay event with a collective time of 1:39.97 to highlight day one of the 2007 MAAC Championships in Baltimore, Thursday.

The foursome's mark eclipses the previous school record of 1:40.13, which was set in 2003.

The Saints currently sit in seventh place following the first day of competition with a score of 70, just five points behind sixth place Niagara with 65. Sitting atop the leader board are the reigning MAAC champion Marist Red Foxes, who posted a staggering 209 points after the first day of events.

The women's 500-yard freestyle event saw O'Keefe finish 16th, as she paced the pool with a time of 5:34.93, while the 50-yard freestyle showcased Dobbins and Serrago, who each posted top-10 finishes, with Dobbins coming in seventh with a time of 25.04 and Serrago placing tenth, clocking a time of 25.38.

The Saints ended the day's competition in the 400-yard Medley Relay in ninth place, as freshman Samantha Coratti (Hyde Park, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), junior Jessica Cummings (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake), O'Keefe and McShane tallied a time of 4:21.12.

Siena aims to move up the leader board tomorrow morning in day two of the 2007 MAAC Championships, which will resume tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Mangione Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola College.
