Feb. 3, 2007

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The quartet of Megan Dobbins (Huntington, Conn./Lauralton Hall Academy), Allison O'Keefe (Southington, Conn./Saint Paul Catholic), Rachel McShane (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) and senior standout Ashley Serrago (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) set a pool record in the 200-meter freestyle relay with a collective time of 1:40.71 to help the Siena Saints cruise past the Manhattan Jaspers, 110-83, Saturday afternoon at the Siena Swim Center.

The foursome's time of 1:40.71 eclipsed Cornell's mark of 1:42.70, which was established in 2001.

In between the 1-meter diving and the 100-meter butterfly events, Dobbins and teammate Jessica Cummings (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake) bid farewell to seniors Serrago and Cat Delaney (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park Memorial) as part of Senior Day with a speech and the handing out of flowers.

The Saints captured a total of five events on the day, including the 50-yard freestyle, the 200-yard Individual Medley, the 1-meter diving, the 100-meter freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.

Dobbins laid claim to first in the 200-yard free with a time of 2:03.56, while Serrago finished her collegiate regular season career with a first place finish in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle, pacing the pool with times of 25.24 and 55.91, respectively. Freshman Samantha Coratti (Hyde Park, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) clocked a time of 2:26.98 to place first in the 200 Individual Medley, while O'Keefe rounded out the Saints' successful day with a first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle of 5:33.82.

The Saints are back in action on Thursday as they will travel to Baltimore for the three-day long 2007 MAAC Championships, which will take place at Loyola College.
