Jan. 21, 2007
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Senior standout Ashley Serrago (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) laid claim to first-place in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 25.65 and 56.04, respectively, to lead Siena to their second win of the season over the Canisius Golden Griffs, 126-104, Sunday afternoon in Buffalo. "I felt that the girls did a great job today with their performance in the pool," head coach Greg Brown said. The quartet of freshman Samantha Coratti (Hyde Park, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes), junior Megan Dobbins (Huntington, Conn./Lauralton Hall Academy), sophomore Rachel McShane (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) and Serrago got the Saints an early 11 points capturing first-place in the opening 200-yard Medley Relay event with a collective time of 1:58.96. Freshman Allison O'Keefe (Southington, Conn./Saint Paul Catholic) captured her second first-place finish in as many meets with a blue-ribbon finish in the 200-yard freestyle event, as she paced the pool with a time of 2:05.86.
