LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Freshmen goalkeeper Laura Ettinger and forward Ashleigh Barone won MAAC weekly awards as announced by the league earlier today. Ettinger was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week and Barone took home Rookie of the Week honors.

Ettinger (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus), a two-time MAAC Player of the Week, posted two shutouts in wins over Iona and Fairfield (#3 in the Northeast) this weekend. She made six saves in 180:00 minute of play. Ettinger owns an 11-1-2 record and has played every minute in goal for the Saints. She is second in the league with five shutouts.

Barone (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), a three-time MAAC Player of the Week, scored three goals including the game winner in a 4-0 win over Iona on Friday. She also contributed to the game winner against Fairfield when she was taken down in the penalty box and earned a penalty kick for Siena, which was converted by Cara Riley. Barone leads the league with 28 points on 12 goals and four assists. She's also tops with five game winning goals.

The Saints sit in first place in the MAAC standings at 11-1-2. Siena returns to action Friday at Saint Peter's at 2 p.m.
