Final Stats

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's soccer team used two goals from freshman forward Tabitha Tice and a third from midfielder Stephanie DiMari to lead the Saints to a 3-1 victory over Manhattan (5-5-4, 2-2-1) this afternoon on Siena Field. The win marks Siena's (5-7-1, 2-2-0) second straight conference victory.

The Lady Jaspers got on the scoreboard just 1:54 into the contest when senior forward Rachel Panullo connected on the first goal of the game. Panullo gathered a bobbled save in front of the cage and sent it into the back of the net.

In the 21st minute, the Saints evened the contest at 1-1 when Tice placed a shot into the right corner thanks to a precise feed from senior co-captain Katie Goodwin. The squads entered intermission locked at 1-1.

With 59:44 on the clock, Tice notched what proved to be the game winning goal. Sophomore Alyssa Thayer set up the play when she pushed the ball up the right side to fellow midfielder Chelsea Maguire. Maguire got by her defender with a sleek ball move and served one across goal to Tice who finished on the play.

In the 72nd minute, DiMari added an insurance goal when teammate Christina Macera sent a pass into the box and DiMari tapped it past the charging Manhattan goalkeeper.

Siena junior Patti Carroll earned the victory in goal for the Saints. Carroll notched two saves on the afternoon.

The Saints superb defensive efforts were anchored by Madeline Rickard, Shana Brady, Jessica Kuehne and Goodwin.

Siena returns to action on Sunday afternoon when they play host to league rival Saint Peter's. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. on Siena Field.
