Siena Ties Sacred Heart 2-2 in First Game of Governor's Cup

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Sophomore Cara Riley scored two goals as Siena tied Sacred Heart 2-2 Friday afternoon in Albany.

Sacred Heart (0-7-1) took the early lead when Britney Dupee scored from three yards out on a corner kick from Alex Mack and Lindsay Elliott.

Siena (4-0-1) tied the game in the 37th minute on Riley's 30-yard blast off a free kick.

Sacred Heart regained the lead on a goal by Leigh Dogmantis in the 76th minute, but Cara Riley tied it once again just five minutes later on a goal assisted by Marissa Shibley.

The Saints outshot Sacred Heart 29-15 in the game. Pioneers goalkeeper Meghan Reichelt made seven saves and Siena's Laura Ettinger made five.

The Saints return to action Sunday against Army at 11 a.m. The game will be played at UAlbany as a part of the Governor's Cup.
