Final Stats

Siena women's soccer lost its season opener to Central Connecticut State University 1-0 Friday afternoon at the TD Bank Classic in Burlington, Vt. Leah Blayney scored the game winning goal in the 17th minute with a 20-yard strike that beat goalkeeper Laura Ettinger.

The Saints (0-1) were outshot 13-6 in the game. Ettinger, a 2008 MAAC All-Rookie Team selection, made four saves. CCSU's (1-0) Caity Casey made all three of her saves in the first half to earn the shutout win.

Blayney matched the entire Siena team with six shots.

Siena returns to action on Sunday when it plays the University of Montreal in its final game of the tournament. Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
