Women's Lacrosse Announces 2008 Schedule

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Head coach Jake McHerron announced the 2008 Siena women's lacrosse schedule this afternoon. The Saints are set to engage in a competitive 16 game lineup that includes key non-conference contests with Vermont, UAlbany and Binghamton, in addition to its always challenging MAAC contests. The Saints will strive to earn a spot in the 2008 MAAC Championships four team field on April 25 & 27 in New Rochelle, N.Y. hosted by Iona College. The Saints kick off the campaign on Feb. 23 when they host C.W. Post on Siena Field marking the first of a four game home stint. Siena wraps up this stretch with Vermont (Feb. 26), Central Connecticut (March 1) and Albany (March 3). Siena scheduled for five road contests through the end of March. The Saints open the series at Binghamton on March 12 and then continue to the western portion of the state when they face-off with St. Bonaventure (March 14) in Corning, N.Y. Siena heads to the nation's capital during Spring Break to compete with Howard (March 18). The squad wraps up the trip two days later at Longwood. Non-conference action concludes with games against Holy Cross (March 27) and Lemoyne (April 1). The Saints return to Western New York for contests at Canisius and Niagara to open MAAC play over the first weekend in April. Siena welcomes Iona (April 11) and Manhattan (April 13) to Loudonville, before wrapping up the regular season at Marist (April 18) and Fairfield (April 20).
