Women's Lacrosse Serves as `Chef's for the Day'
Nov. 12, 2007
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The women's lacrosse team made a visit to the Ronald McDonald House in Albany on Friday where they served as `Chef's for the Day'. The Saints prepared a multi-course dinner for the residing families. In an ongoing partnership with Siena Athletics, Price Chopper generously donated the food that was served today. "It is our responsibility as members of the Siena Athletic Department to reach out and give back to the local community," explains head coach Jake McHerron. "This was a rewarding experience for our team and we look forward to returning this spring." This marks the third year of Siena Athletics department-wide partnership with Ronald McDonald House. Throughout the academic year, Siena's varsity sports teams will visit the Ronald McDonald House and serve as `Chef's for the Day'. Teams also visit children in Ronald McDonald House family room at Albany Medical Center. Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, Inc. provides comfort, support and respite for families of seriously ill children in a compassionate and home-like environment through the operation of the Ronald McDonald House, and the Ronald McDonald House Family Room in the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center and awards grants to programs in the community that enhance the lives of children.
