Saints Name Tara Casey Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Tara Casey has recently been named assistant women's lacrosse coach at Siena College. Casey will assist in all phases of the program including recruiting, practice preparation and student-athlete evaluation. In addition to this role, Casey will also serve as the athletic departments Intramurals & Camp Director.

"I am very excited to have Tara join our coaching staff," said head women's lacrosse coach Jake McHerron. "Tara will be a great asset in helping propel our program to the top of the MAAC."

Casey comes to Loudonville most recently from Colgate University where she assembled a decorated collegiate lacrosse career for the Red Raiders. Casey was an All-Patriot League selection in each of her four years at Colgate earning First Team honors at the conclusion of her senior campaign. In 2004 and 2005, Casey helped guide the Red Raiders to back-to-back conference championships becoming the first women's lacrosse team in program history to earn an NCAA Tournament berth.

Casey, a Syracuse native, earned the team's Most Valuable Midfielder award following her sophomore and junior seasons at Colgate. In 2007, she was named an All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete presented by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Casey holds a wealth of coaching experience stemming from her tenure instructing Colgate's All-American Lacrosse camp and serving as a strength and conditioning coach for Strength in Motion, Inc. in Syracuse, N.Y. In her time with the All-American lacrosse camp, Casey instructed groups of 25 high school athletes touching on various aspects of the game. At Strength in Motion, Inc., she conducted agility, lifting and core workouts for approximately 200 high school and college athletes.
