Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's lacrosse team was defeated today by the Le Moyne Dolphins 15-4 on a soggy field in the Saints' home opener of the spring season.

Le Moyne built an early lead behind a pair of goals from Tara Walberger. The Dolphins' Caitlin Lowie and Alison Simonelli each tacked on early goals as well to give Le Moyne a 4-0 lead with 13 minutes remaining in the first half. The Saints first got on the scoreboard with 12:14 remaining in the half on a goal by Kristen Sibilia (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) that was assisted by Cynthia Gutierrez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas). The Dolphins responded with three unanswered goals to help give them a 7-2 lead at halftime. Isabel Ohanian (Loudonville, N.Y./Shaker) notched the Saints second goal of the half on a free position shot.

In the second half, the Saints' Stephanie Petruccelli (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) found the back of the net early in the half to cut the Dolphins' lead to 7-3. Le Moyne's Walberger and Colleen Sperry extended the Dolphins' lead to 14-3 with a pair of goals each in the second half.
