Five Saints Named to Women's Lax All-Academic Team
April 30, 2001 LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Five Siena women's lacrosse players were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team released today. Sophomore Maureen Condon, juniors Jessica Laut and Julie Mason and seniors Kate Ross and Allison Crepeau were among the nearly 40 players who have a grade point average of 3.2 or above. Condon (Massapequa, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) holds a 3.43 GPA and is a biology major. She played in every game this season, starting four. Condon collected 20 ground balls and also tallied an assist. Laut (Floral Park, NY/Manhattan College) finished the season with two goals and two assists and scooped up 26 ground balls. The junior is an economics major with a 3.33 GPA. Mason (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) holds a 3.40 GPA in accounting at Siena. She started three games this season, scoring a goal and also collecting one assist. Ross (Dewitt, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) was a member of the IWLCA Academic Team last year and possesses a 3.54 GPA in environmental studies. She was named all-MAAC after her sophomore and junior seasons. One of the top defenders on the team, she finished the year with 27 ground balls.
Crepeau (North Smithfield, RI/North Smithfield) is a biology major with a 3.89 GPA. She was selected to Alpha Kappa Alpha earlier this year, the highest honor a Siena student can receive.
