Christina Pampalone Nabs MAAC Weekly Award

EDISON, NJ--Sophomore Christina Pampalone (East Northport, NY/Commack HS) was named this week's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league today.

Pampalone was a scoring machine in Siena's three big wins this week, with two being MAAC wins. In the three games combined, she netted 16 goals and two assists for 18 points. Against Niagara, she matched her career high and school record with seven goals in a game. In the win against Canisius, she raked in six groundballs while connecting on 5 - of - 9 shots on goals. She leads the Saints offense with 45 goals, five of which were game winning goals. The second year midfielder is connecting on 45% of her shots committed. Collectively, she scooped10 groundballs won seven draw controls and caused one turnover. Pampalone is averaging 2.81 goals per game.

The Saints finished the regular season ranked #2 in the MAAC compiling a10-6 overall record and 6-1 in league play.

Siena heads to Fairfield, CT to take on LeMoyne College in their first championship appearance. The tournament first match is at 1 p.m., the Saints will play in the second game which starts 45 minutes after the first game played.
