Rosecrans Snags MAAC Weekly Honors

Feb. 25, 2008

Loudonville, N.Y. - Siena women's lacrosse quad-captain Lindsey Rosecrans was named MAAC Player of the Week this afternoon by league officials. The midfielder recorded a hat trick in the Saints 16-8 season opening loss to C.W. Post on Saturday. This is the first time Rosecrans has been named the league's player of the week.

"I think this is a great individual honor for Lindsey" said head coach Jake McHerron. "She brings a lot to the table with tremendous all-around game and is able to make others around her better."

Rosecrans tallied three goals on seven shots, five of which were on goal, while also scooping two ground balls on Saturday. Two of her three scores came at a critical juncture as well in a 33 second span early in the second half that brought the Saints within a goal at that point, 7-6.

Rosecrans and the Saints will look to pick up their first win of the season tomorrow afternoon when they host Vermont at Siena Turf Field. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
