Siena Women's Lax Scores Season High in Season Finale
April 26, 2002
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena played one of its finest games of the season, playing Manhattan even in the first half before the Lady Jaspers pulled away in the second half of a 17-13 Manhattan victory Friday afternoon. The teams traded goals in the first half before going to the half tied at eight. Manhattan (4-12/3-3 MAAC) scored four of the first five goals of the second half to pull away and Siena (0-14/0-6 MAAC) never pulled closer than two goals the rest of the way. Mary Dudek led the visitors with five goals and an assist while Nora Jacquette and Victoria Carman each had four goals and an assist. Stepahnie Petruccelli (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led Siena with a season-high five goals and three assists. Sarah Estes (Scotia, N.Y./Scotia-Glenville) added four goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Mary-Elizabeth Dupelle (Feeding Hills, Mass./Agawam) made 12 big saves to keep the Saints in the game. Siena finishes a second consecutive season without a win. The Saints, however, are a young team, that features no seniors and just six juniors on a 25-player roster.
