Siena Falls to Albany in Capital Region Matchup

March 26, 2002

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Amanda Heller scored three straight goals early in the second half to break open a close game and lead Albany to a 10-3 victory in women's lacrosse action. The game was played in a driving rainstorm at Union College.

Albany (1-4) led 5-2 when Heller recorded her hat trick. She also added an assist on the afternoon. Siena (0-2) trailed 4-2 at the half, thanks in large part to the efforts of goalkeeper Mary-Elizabeth Dupelle (Feeding Hills, Mass./Agawam) who made 12 saves.

Andrea Esposito and Erin Pemrick each added two goals for the victors while Theresa Masse had a goal and an assist.

Sarah Estes (Scotia, N.Y./Scotia), Sara Talbot (Williston, VT/Henderson) and Caitlin Doherty (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) each scored for the Saints.

Siena continues a four-game homestand on Saturday against Howard. Faceoff is scheduled for noon.
