Laura Woolgar Tabbed NGCA 2006-07 All-American Scholar

July 10, 2007

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -Siena women's golf standout Laura Woolgar '07 (Pear River, N.Y./Pearl River) was selected to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for the second consecutive year. The announcement was made by the association Monday morning. A total of 368 women golfers within the NCAA were tabbed to the prestigious squad.

Woolgar, one of two MAAC representatives in the running for NCAA Woman of the Year, helped lead the Saints to their seventh-straight MAAC Championship in 2007, while finishing the season with a scoring average of 80.2. The ideal student-athlete, Woolgar graduated with a 3.69 GPA, while calculating a perfect 4.0 in her final semester at Siena.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50% (Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
