Siena College women's golfer Laura Woolgar was selected as one of two MAAC representatives for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Woolgar, a senior golfer, finished in the top-3 in each of the four MAAC Championships she participated in, helping the Saints to the MAAC title all four years.

A Suffern, N.Y. native, Woolgar won the Charles "Scott" McLeod Award for capturing the individual MAAC Championship during the Saints' title run in 2004.

Academically, Woolgar has maintained a 3.66 grade point average, while majoring in psychology. She has been selected to the Presidents List (3.55 GPA or above) five times and earned a spot on the Dean's List (3.21 GPA-3.54) twice. She is a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection and has earned All-American Scholar honors from the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Additionally, Woolgar has been active with the Ronald McDonald's House Charities since 2005, cooking meals for families and also helping with the annual spring cleaning project. She also assists students with writing papers and essays in her role as a Certified Peer Tutor at the Siena College Writing Center. From 2004 - 2006, Woolgar, spent six weeks teaching kids the fundamental skills of golf.

Woolgar almost had her collegiate career come to an end following a serious automobile accident after her freshman season. She returned to help the women's golf team capture three additional MAAC Championships during her career, serving as team captain as a senior.

It marks the second straight year a Siena student-athlete has earned the MAAC's nomination for the NCAA Woman of the Year award. Volleyball standout Liz Hubbard was the 2006-2007 nominee. Woolgar and Rider's Jazmine Fenlator are no eligible to receive the 2007 NCAA Woman of the Year honor.
