Women's Golf Stands Tenth After Day One of Rutgers Invitational

First Round Results Get Acrobat Reader

The Siena women's golf team completed the first round of Rutgers Invitational in tenth place earlier this afternoon at the Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J. Reigning MAAC Women's Golfer of the Month Katelynn Mannix paced the Saints with a first round score of 80.

Lehigh (317) harbors a narrow lead after the first round, where the top-4 teams are separated by just three strokes. Despite being 17 strokes back (334), the Saints are still within striking distance to challenge for the tournament crown with 36 holes remaining.

Mannix, who currently stands tied for 17th overall, was consistent in shooting 40's on both the front and back nines. Lehigh's Livia Amado leads the field through one round of play following a +2 round of 74.

Junior captain Bridget Carr (83), Catherine Shomo (84) and Julie Juchno (87) additionally had respectable rounds firing in the mid-80's.

The final two rounds of action get underway tomorrow at 9 a.m.
