Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena field hockey team's 2008 season opener will air live in the Capital Region on Time Warner Cable Channel 3. The Saints will battle Patriot League foe Colgate in a 7 p.m. faceoff at Tyler's Field in Hamilton, N.Y.

Colgate broadcaster Joseph Brown will handle the play-by-play duties, teamed alongside of Sue McVaugh.

The Saints embark upon the second year of the Bill Davidson era looking to improve upon a 2007 campaign in which the Green and Gold finished 2-12 overall and 1-6 in Northeast Conference competition. Siena returns eight letterwinners and six starters in total from a largely revamped squad which features nine newcomers.

Colgate meanwhile will open longtime head coach Cathy Foto's 20th season at the helm of the Raiders with 14 letterwinners and seven starters returning from last year's team that finished 8-9 overall.
