The Northeast Conference coaches have picked Siena to finish sixth in the eight-team league's annual preseason poll. The Saints are under the direction of first year head coach Bill Davidson and will be playing their home games on their new artificial turf field for the first time.

"We are excited with the future of Siena field hockey," Davidson said. "I have been happy with the attitude of the team in preseason workouts and everyone is buying into what we are teaching."

For the third straight year, Lock Haven was the preseason pick to win the league. The Eagles won the Championship in 2006. Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart and Rider rounded out the top-4 selections.

Siena returns leading scorer Traci Baldwin (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) who tallied five goals and an assist last season.

The Saints open their season August 28 at Holy Cross at 6 p.m.
