LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena women’s basketball lost their sixth straight game Sunday afternoon with a 72-49 defeat at the hands of Harvard University in Loudonville. Harvard was led by a balanced attack as Emma Markley (15), Katie Rollins (11) and Claire Wheeler (11) combined for 37 points. Junior guard Allie Lindemann led all scorers with 18 points and hit 4-8 3-pointers.

Siena (0-6) and Harvard (3-2) played back and forth through the first 15 minutes of the game as the Crimson led 25-20. Harvard went on a 7-0 run on a jumper from Rollins and two field goals by Brogan Berry that gave them a 32-20 lead entering halftime. Senior captain Heather Stec paced the Saints in the first half with eight points on 4-6 shooting. As a team, Siena shot 27% from the floor.

In the second half, Siena cut the deficit to nine on a Lindemann layup with 17:37 on the clock. That was the last time it would be a single-digit game.

With 6:03 remaining in the game, Stec hit a jumper to cut the deficit to 16. Harvard closed the door on any chance of a comeback with a 13-0 run over the next five minutes with baskets coming from four different players.

The Crimson shot 44% (29-65) from the field and 46% (7-15) from 3-point land during the game. The Saints shot just 33% (19-57) from the floor and 30% (6-20) from long range. Saints not named Lindemann combined for 2-12 from 3-point range.

Siena committed 19 turnovers which Harvard scored 26 points off. The Crimson out-rebounded the Saints 47-32 and grabbed 19 offensive boards for 16 second chance points.

Junior Sara Parnell set a season-high with seven points and a career-high with six rebounds in 12 minutes off the bench.

Siena returns to action Friday when they play Canisius in Buffalo. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
