Jolene Johnston enters her first season as assistant women's basketball coach. Johnston served the last two years as an assistant coach at UAlbany.

At Siena, Johnston will have administrative duties including team travel, film exchange and will be the Co-Director of the program's summer camps. She will also recruit and have on-floor coaching responsibilities.

"We are thrilled to have Jolene Johnston back in our basketball program," said head coach Gina Castelli. "As a player Jolene brought intensity, passion, skill and tremendous leadership to our program. We all knew back then that she would be a great coach. With her coaching experience at UAlbany and her Siena experience, Jolene is very prepared and we could not be more excited to welcome her home."

Johnston '04 started 68 games and tied the school record with 121 appearances during her four year career. She averaged eight points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Johnston finished her career with 972 points and 519 rebounds.

In 2003-04, Johnston was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and selected to the MAAC First Team. She won four regular-season MAAC Titles (2000-2004) and a MAAC Championship in 2001.

After graduation, Johnston played professionally for the Ponce Leonas in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and T71 in Dudelange, Luxembourg. She has additional coaching experience at local summer camps and was the co-head coach at Scotia-Glenville High School in 2004-05.
