 Men's Tennis Earns MAAC Win at Rider

Jeremy Deuel and Nick Rutherford held the top two singles spots with straight set wins as Siena narrowly missed a road sweep of Rider in its MAAC opener in Lawrenceville Saturday afternoon. The Saints earned wins in three tiebreakers and won five of six singles matches after sweeping doubles play. In addition to Deuel and Rutherford, Stefan Putyera, Kevin Gioia and Jose Loren all picked up key singles wins. Jay Godbole suffered a hard fought three-set decision at #4 singles. Siena began the match by sweeping the three doubles matches to win the double point. It was the second straight victory for Siena which improved to 3-5 on the season. The Saints beat Rider 4-3 last season.
