Siena swept the doubles competition, but lost four of six singles matches in a 4-3 setback to Fordham in the Bronx Friday. Jeremy Deuel and Stefan Putyera posted the singles wins for the Saints.

Siena got off to a strong start, claiming the doubles point with wins in all three matches. Nick Rutherford and Jeremy Deuel won 8-4 at top doubles, Jay and Nick Godbole claimed an 8-6 win at #2 doubles and Jarrett Siwiec and Chris Auffredou won 8-5 at #3 doubles.

The key swing point came at top singles, where Rutherford lost a tough 6-4 and 6-4 decision.
