For the second straight year, a Saint posted an upset win at the top of the singles rotation in the annual non-league match with BIG EAST foe Connecticut. This time, Nick Rutherford, playing #2 singles, knocked off UConn's Joey Michaels 6-4 and 6-4. The Huskies swept the rest of the matches to post a 6-1 win in Loudonville.

Jeremy Deuel nearly knocked off UConn top man Joe Goldstein for the second straight season before suffering a 1-6, 7-6(5) and 6-4 setback.

The Saints return to action this Saturday when they host Rider.
