Ciovacco, Henry Represent Men's Soccer on All-MAAC Second Team

Nov. 10, 2003

Senior forward Paul Ciovacco and freshman goalkeeper Patrick Henry were named to the 2003 Men's Soccer All-MAAC Second Team, as voted on by the league's head coaches, it was announced Friday. Additionally, Siena led all schools with six members being named to the conference's All-Academic Team.

Ciovacco, a Third-Team All New York State selection in 2001, returned this season after sitting out the 2002 campaign with an injury to lead the team in points (8) and goals (4). Ciovacco landed in a tie for fourth in conference play in goals scored (4) and ninth overall. He finished his career as a four-year starter, playing in 70 games while recording 20 goals, five of which were gamewinners, and adding 12 assists.

Henry wrapped up his rookie season ranked seventh among keepers in MAAC play with 31 saves and tied for third with three shutouts. He made 76 saves through 19 games played and posted a 1.80 goals against average and a .690 save percentage.

Junior C.J. Melilli along with sophomores Christian Crescitelli, T.J. Helly, Sean Kelly, Vinny Russo and Chris Turcio represented Siena on the MAAC All-Academic Team. The Saints placed a league-high six member to the squad.

The Saints (6-12-1), the number four seed going into the conference tournament, fell to number five Marist, 3-0, in the MAAC Quarterfinals to end their 2003 season.
