Men's Soccer Takes On Marist in MAAC Championship Quarterfinals

Nov. 6, 2003

The Siena College men's soccer team will face Marist College today, Thursday, November 6th, in the quarterfinal round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. Game-time is set for 2:45 p.m. between the #4 seed Saints and the #5 seed Red Foxes.

The Saints wrapped up regular season play, falling to MAAC rivals Manhattan and St. Peter's, letting a first place finish in the conference slip through their hands and earning fourth place.

Entering the Championships, Paul Ciovacco and Delmiro Fernandez lead the team in points (8) and goals (4) while Joe Vitale has topped the squad in assists (3). Freshman keeper Patrick Henry has played all but 33 minutes in the cage for Siena and has recorded 66 saves on the season.

The Saints (6-10-1, 5-2-1 MAAC) fell to Marist, 1-0, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. earlier in the season.
