LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena College men's soccer team (5-7-1 // 3-2-0 MAAC) played 90 minutes of shutout soccer, defeating Canisius College (2-9-1 // 1-3-0 MAAC) 4-0, in a match played Friday afternoon at Saints Field.

Junior KEVIN PURCELL (Albany, N.Y./Guilderland HS) started the offense with a goal in the first minute. Following Purcell's lead, BILL ROHRBACH (West Hempstead, N.Y./West Hempstead) scored with five minutes left in the first half.

At 57:46 the Saints cushioned their lead to 3-0 after a goal by Senior midfielder JACK KETCHAM (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Ketcham). PURCELL finished what he started, finding the back of the net at 68:51.

The Golden Griffins had only three total shots, while the Saints had 18 total scoring attempts on net.

The shutout went to goalkeeper ANDREW SETHER (Garden City, N.J./Valley Stream South) who tallied three saves. It was his second shutout of the season.

The Saints face off against MAAC rival Niagara University Sunday afternoon at Saints Field in Loudonville, with a 1:00 p.m. starting time.
