Men's Soccer Signs Pair to Join Team in 2002
March 5, 2002 LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Head Coach Charlie Curto announced Tuesday that the Siena men's soccer program has signed two players to join the Saints beginning with the 2002 season. T.J. Helly (Carmel, N.Y./Carmel) was a three-year varsity starter who was named to the All-League and All-Section teams. Curto expects Helly to contribute as a strong one-on-one defender at either the stopper or defensive midfield positions. Helly started on the Hudson Valley Empire State Team last summer as well as the Washingtonville Blue Storm club team. Helly also excelled as a two-year starter for the Carmel basketball team. Jesse Brady-Searby (Petersburgh, N.Y./Northfield Mt. Hermon) will also join the Saints in the fall. At Northfield Mt. Hermon, he was named First-Team All-State as well as First-Team All-WNEPSSA. Curto says Brady-Searby is an athletic player who excels at playing the ball in the air. He also played for the Clifton Park U18 team with current Siena sophomore-to-be Joe Vitale.
The Saints finished the 2001 season 6-10-2 and qualified for the MAAC Tournament.
