Final Stats

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Loyola's Daniel Ankrah scored two goals including the game winner to defeat Siena 3-1 Sunday afternoon in Baltimore, Md. Siena's 4-game win streak is snapped as they lose their first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game of the season.

Loyola (12-0-1, 4-0) jumped out to an early lead in the 4th minute on a goal by Tennant McVea. Wade McHugh played a ball to Steven Bantock at the right side of the box who found McVea at the top of the box. The junior defender placed his shot to the right side of the goal to give Loyola a 1-0 lead.

Ankrah gave Loyola a two-goal lead in the 24th minute. Phil Bannister received a ball in traffic and back-heeled it to Ankrah on the left side who ripped a near-post shot that beat goalkeeper Steve Skonieczny.

Ankrah scored his second goal of the game at the 60:05 mark. At the top of the box, Ankrah made a move beating his man to the right side and hit his shot far-post.

Siena (5-6-1, 3-1) ended the shutout bid in the 77th minute on a penalty kick. Senior Mike DeSimone converted the PK with a high shot that beat goalkeeper Milos Kocic. The goal was DeSimone's third of the season and his first career PK attempt. Siena's Matt Turcio had a point-blank scoring chance in the 83rd minute, but Kocic saved his shot.

Skonieczny made six saves in defeat while Kocic made three.
