LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - James Gledhill scored in the 22nd minute and the Fairfield defense shut down the Saints as the Stags shutout Siena 1-0 Wednesday afternoon.

Gledhill took a pass from Rob DeFaveri and put it past Saints goalie Ryan Jordan (Monroe, N.Y./Manhattan College) to give the Stags (5-1-1, 4-1 MAAC) a lead they would never relinquish.

The game was evenly played with the Stags finishing with a 14-11 advantage in shots. Each team had good scoring opportunities. Fairfield had two shots at open nets in the final seven minutes but could not convert.

Both Jordan and Stags goalie Roger Noll made four saves. Siena (1-5-1, 1-1 MAAC) continues a four-game homestand Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. against Iona.
