Saints Fall 1-0 at the Hands of No. 24 Colgate

Sept. 26, 2006

Final Stats

Loudonville, N.Y. - Men's soccer was upended 1-0 by nationally ranked Colgate (No. 24) at Van Doran Field this evening. The Raiders posted their lone goal in the 29th minute when senior midfielder Charli Lambropoulos took a feed from freshman Chris Salmon and placed it in the back of the net.

Just minutes after Salmon entered the game; he sent the ball into the box to be tracked down by the sprinting Lambropoulos. Lambropoulos dodged the Saints defense and sent a high ball over the head of goaltender Patrick Henry (LaGrangeville, N.Y./Arlington) for his first goal of the year.

The Raiders outshot Siena 15-6 in the game. Henry tallied four saves on the day as the Saints drop to 1-6-1 on the season. David Cappuccio secured the win for the Raiders adding 3 saves in a shutout effort. Colgate improves to 6-0-2 on the year.

The Saints open their conference schedule on the road this Friday with Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. This marks the start of a four game conference stretch. On Sunday, the Saints travel to New Rochelle, N.Y. to meet Iona at noon.
