Binghamton Shuts Out Men's Soccer, 1-0

Sept. 17, 2003

Box Score

Junior forward Stephen Bruce found the back of the net at the 62:18 mark to give Binghamton a 1-0 victory over Siena College in men's soccer action at West Gym Field. With the loss the Saints fall to 0-4 on the season while the Bearcats improve to 4-1-1, continuing their best season start since they went 5-1-1 in 1993.

Despite being outshot 9-8, Bruce converted on the key play of the game when he took a pass from freshman forward Mike Greenber right in front of the goal and fired what proved to be the gamewinner into the net.

Siena keeper Patrick Henry made two saves for the Saints, while Binghamton netminder Stefan Gonet had fours stops on the afternoon.

The Saints will return to action the Saturday, September 20 when they face the University of Massachusetts at home in Loudonville, N.Y. Game-time is set for 1:00 p.m.
